With Los Angeles' classic indian summer in full effect, I've been dreaming of a Mexican vacation. In the meantime, I'd settle for lounging by the pool in this eclectic outdoor room designed by Chris Barrett Design.

Thirsty Thursday: Ramos Gin Fizz

Ingredients:
2 ounces Haymans Old Tom gin Juice of half a lemon Juice of half a lime 1 ounce simple syrup 1 ounce half-and-half ¾ ounce egg white Club soda Orange flower water

Add the first six ingredients to a shaker. Shake well. Add ice. Shake again. Strain into a chilled collins glass. Top with a splash of soda and orange flower water.

Novel Necessity: Horn Vase
