Novel Necessity: Day to Night Bikini Bustier

I don't think it's unreasonable to say, I really do need this Mara Hoffman bikini top. Not only does it have a bustier construction and removable straps, but the ethnic like embroidery is truly stunning. As soon as I hunt down the last remaining size medium I shall be showing it off at the beach during day and under a peak-a-boo blouse come evening.

LABEL LUST: Haute Hippie

This spring, I've been drooling over a myriad of Haute Hippie items. I'm particularly fond of the relaxed yet stylishly sophisticated aura these fashion staples ooze. At the moment you can find me either playing up my wild side in pops of poppy or embracing a more understated sexiness in varying shades of nude.

Zara to the Rescue

With a flurry of work events headed my way, I think my wardrobe could use a bit of refreshing. So, I did what any other style conscious professional 20-something on a budget does and headed to Zara. Working in the interior design industry gives me a bit more creative leeway than others, so with that in mind, below are a few of my favorite finds.

There is not much to say about these shoes besides FABULOUS! Although I don't have the heel- stamina to wear these all day they would be perfect to slip on for a meeting or a cocktail party.

This linen ruffle skirt will be perfect for cocktail parties paired with a white silk shell. It comes in a beige hue as well, but the emerald green has a pop that will make you stand out in a crowd. During the day I will wear this with flats and a white blazer.

A great small structured bag such as this one will take you far. It has an art-deco vibe that I like and the classic colors make it look much more expensive than it is.

You can't go wrong with a lightweight crisp white blazer. I gravitated towards this one for its sexy fit and amazing price tag (just $79)!

I plan on wearing this leather tank now with white jeans or black skinny ankle pants .  In fall I will pair it with a chunky cable knit sweater and leggings.

Thirsty Thursday: Kingston Colada

 

What better way to forget your worries than lounging on a hammock, sipping on a pina colada in a tropical paradise? If you're like me,  an island getaway isn't exactly in your near future, so this evening I'll be indulging in a Kingston Colada. With a fraction of the calories and just as delicious on a city deck as it is a desert island, this is my go-to escapism cocktail. 

 Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz Appleton Estate Reserve Rum
• 1.5 oz Coconut water
• 1.5 oz Pineapple juice
• 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
• Squeeze of lime
